Bienvenue / Wellcome

The Head of the Column of the First Regiment of Foot
Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard of Dijon (France)
Napoleonic Marching Band established in 1986 in Dijon, France.

When the "Head of the Column of the 1st Regiment of Foot Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard", now more commonly known as the "Musique de la Garde Imperiale", was first created in 1986, its original mission was to fittingly represent the town of
Dijon (France).

But over the years it has earned a solid reputation for its high quality performances, based on both authenticity of its unifoms, and the precision of its interpretation.

The marching band has fulfilled its mission as ambassador of Dijon, as the musicians have travelled all over France, Europe (Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland), in the Middle East, where the band took part in the celebration of the 3,000th year anniversary of Jerusalem, and even in the United States of America: World-Fest 2001 (Branson - Missouri).

The band's vocation for historical music has led the Imperial Guard to diverse events commemorating the Emperor: to Paris (rench Army Musuem) ; Auxonne (where Bonaparte stayed) ; Fixin (The Reveille) ; Salon de Provence (Emperi Museum) and to several other communities along the famous "Route Napoleon", for various commemorative ceremonies ; and even for recreations of history like the encounter with the Prussians at the Polish Border in Gorlitz (Germany).

Moreover, the band participates in all sorts of other events like : the inauguration of monuments or sites, musical festivals, opening ceremonies for conferences, television programs, processions of floral floats, local festivities, etc...

The "Musique de la garde Imperiale", which now includes about 60 performers, has greatly increased its repertoire, even if the Napolean and consular marches remain its preferred pieces.

The band is available for concerts, parades, and all other suitable events, and is willing to adapt to the requirements of each organiser.
